3 Levers That Will Help You Grow Faster

There are 3 major growth levers I believe every small business owner should learn how to pull:

1. Other People’s Money (OPM)

You can raise money, get a loan, or take on an investor—but OPM usually comes with strings. You’ll have to offer equity or royalties in return for the capital. It’s powerful, but expensive.

2. Other People’s Customers (OPC)

This is where partnerships shine. When someone promotes your services to their already-loyal customer base, you get introduced with instant trust. You’re not some random ad. You’re recommended. That’s huge.

Example: A mosquito control company emails their clients and says, “Hey—if you want a clean yard, you also need it poop-free. Check out Salazar Scoops.” That’s OPC in action.

3. Other People’s Resources (OPR)

This could be someone with a big email list or social following who shares your business. It could be an event that lets you speak to your ideal audience (like when Jobber invited me to speak at their Jobber Summit). I didn’t pay for the stage—but I got access to thousands of service-based business owners.

The best part? You don’t have to build these platforms from scratch.

You just have to show up, serve, and make it easy for people to say “yes” to collaborating with you.

If you want to grow faster this year, stop trying to do everything yourself.

  • Leverage their audiences, trust, and influence.

You don’t need to spend more money to grow.
